Abstract
It is an object of the invention to provide an inexpensive robot arm device, adapted for use in a heat treatment furnace, that facilitates replacement of damaged heaters, thereby allowing a infrequent, simplified maintenance work and a resulting enhanced productivity. An arm 1 includes a CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) material, and has a long length and a flat section. The arm 1 is cantilevered from a column 13. Thin plate heaters 2 and 3 are placed on an upper side, and a lower side, of a portion of the arm 1 near a fixed end thereof. Then, the portion of the arm 1, as well as the heaters 2 and 3, is covered with a covering 4. Electric power is supplied to the heaters 2 and 3, so that the portion of the arm 1 is heated to 150° C or higher.
