Abstract

This invention relates to a method for dynamically setting management functions of intelligent platform management interface (IPMI), which is applicable to a computer system having an IPMI to enable an administrator to obtain the system status and set OEM command to select necessary function module for execution via the IPMI. In addition, by the setup of the IPMI OEM command, each functional flag of the functional module may be enabled or disabled, the flag status thereof may be obtained to determine whether the function module is needed by the user. Thus, the present invention may initiate the IPMI OEM command in accordance with the function module set by the administrator and set the function module corresponding to the enabled status flag conducted by the users in the system. As a result, the function modules in the system may be started quickly, correctly, and efficiently to meet users' requirements and adapt to operation configuration of different demands.
