Abstract

Here is provided an auto-focus method and apparatus capable of compensating for variation in the amount of load on a linear actuator and, thereby fast and accurately auto-focusing the apparatus. The linear actuator, in addition to comprising features of compactness and simplified structure, is able to compensate for variation in the amount of load resulting from stagger, as well as gravity. Moreover, the present invention implements the linear characteristic between the amount of a velocity variation and the amount of load variation, whereby a new control voltage is generated in accordance with the amount of the velocity variation so as to compensate the amount of load variation and fast and accurately auto-focusing the apparatus.
