Abstract

An optical examining apparatus having a composite light source comprises an examining platform, a video camera unit, and a movable light module. The movable light module can be moved vertically between the examining platform and the video camera unit. The movable light module includes a top annular light source, a side annular light source, a reflecting plate, and a diffusing plate. The reflecting plate locates on an outer side beneath the top annular light source to reflect the light therefrom, and the diffusing plate locates on an inner side of the side annular light source to diffuse the light therefrom. Thereby, the top annular light source and the side annular light source illuminate an examining component placed on the examining platform radially and inwardly through the reflecting plate and the diffusing plate in turn so that the video camera unit can capture the whole images of the examining component.
