Abstract
A method and equipment for electrolytic treatment of wastewater containing ammonia nitrogen for enabling prevention of decrease in current efficiency, improvement of decomposition efficiency of ammonia, and safe and efficient treatment of all kind of wastewater containing ammonia nitrogen are disclosed. The equipment comprises an adjusting tank 11, an electrolytic bath 12 for electrolyzing wastewater supplied from the adjusting tank, and a pump 13 for circulating the wastewater between the adjusting tank and electrolytic bath, whereby the wastewater is electrolyzed with its pH value maintained in a rage between pH5 and below pH8 and preferably metal catalytic material being provided in the electrolytic bath to enhance decomposition of ammonia nitrogen.
