Abstract
A trolley wire wear measurement apparatus and method. The apparatus is configured to perform the following: integrating data from a line sensor to create a line sensor image; binarizing the line sensor image to create a binarized line sensor image; eliminating noise from the binarized line sensor image to create a noise-eliminated binarized line sensor image; detecting edges of a worn portion of a trolley wire in the noise-eliminated binarized line sensor image; and computing width of the worn portion of the trolley wire in accordance with data on the detected edges of the worn portion of the trolley wire and height of the trolley wire.
