Abstract

The object of the present invention is to provide a building construction member, by which an external air guide-in passage is formed narrow to prevent rain water from flowing indoors and the space between a window frame and sliding window panels is set to a constant pressure space to thereby enhance performance of water-tightness. The solution of the present invention is that an internal-rail-side space (47) formed between a lower frame portion (12) of an internal slide window panel (10) and a lower window frame (4) is in communication with an external space via an upper external-air guide route that extends through an upper side of an internal rail (42) and a lower external-air guide route that extends through a lower-window-frame hollow portion (45), so that the internal-rail-side space (47) and the external space can be maintained as an equal pressure space to prevent rainwater from leaking into the internal-rail-side space (47). Further, the upper external-air guide route is set narrow to prevent rainwater to flow across the internal rail (42) for leaking indoor, while the external air can be well guided indoor through the lower external-air guide route, so that even in the condition of strong blows, it is hard to induce a pressure difference of the internal-rail-side space (47) with respect to the external space and the equal pressure space is maintained to further enhance performance of water-tightness.
