Abstract
A fuel supply device may comprise a sub-tank (1) and a fuel injection pump (13) that draws in fuel and injects the drawn fuel. The sub-tank (1) is arranged in a higher position than the fuel injection pump (13). The sub-tank (1) and a fuel tank (12) are connected by a with a first fuel supply path (16, 17). The sub-tank (1) and the fuel injection pump (13) are connected by a second fuel supply path (18, 19). A fuel pump (14) may be located on the first fuel supply path (16, 17). The fuel pump (14) sends fuel stored in the fuel tank (12) to the sub-tank (1) via the first fuel supply path. The sub-tank (1) and the fuel tank (12) are further connected by a first return path (20). The first return path (20) returns excess fuel of the sub-tank (1) to the fuel tank (12). The first fuel supply path (16, 17) and first return path (20) are connected to the sub-tank (1) such that pulsations of the fuel pump (13) are absorbed.
