Abstract

Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device wherein an organic thin film composed of one or more layers including at least a light-emitting layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode, and at least one layer in the organic thin film contains a compound (A) having a specific terminal substituent and a compound (B) of an asymmetric structure which has a fused aromatic ring having 12-50 nuclear carbon atoms. This organic electroluminescent device is capable of emitting red light of high color purity while having high luminous efficiency and long life.
