Abstract

The invention relates to a device and method of sun-tracking for movable solar panel. The longitude, latitude, and time embedded in data sentences which are generated by satellite signal receiver are transmitted to the mechanism where the data sentences are processed and used to calculate solar position. The relative position of the sun is thus obtained by using the algorithm inside the mechanism and heading information. After the relative position is obtained, the solar panel is controlled to face toward the sun. The maximum energy output efficiency is obtained by using the device and method.
