Abstract
A high tensile refractory steel of the invention comprises in mass per cent, C: 0.04 to 0.14%, Si: not more than 0.50%, Mn: 0.50 to 2.00%, P: not more than 0.020%, S: not more than 0.010%, Nb: 0.01 to 0.05%, Mo: not less than 0.30% and less than 0.70%, Al: not more than 0.060%, N: 0.0010 to 0.0060%, weld crack sensitivity composition expressed by a formula, PcM=C+Si/30+Mn/20+Cu/20+Ni/60+Cr/20+Mo/15+V/10+5B: not more than 0.25%, and balance: Fe and unavoidable impurities, wherein at a position 1/4 of the depth in the direction of plate thickness of a steel plate after a final rolling, polygonal ferrite or pseudo polygonal ferrite are not more than 10% in area ratio.
