Abstract
A vaccine prepared by inactivating the culture of a microorganism which belongs to the genus Streptococcus and produces a substance having a vaccinal effect on fish streptococcemia, for example, Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. Dysgalactiae (FERM BP-10442). This vaccine has an excellent vaccinal effect on novel type streptococcemia in fishes. Different from the existing methods using antibiotics, this vaccine enables the prevention and treatment of streptococcemia without any fear of the appearance of a drug tolerant strain.
