Abstract
This invention discloses the method for preparing nano Ni-B catalyst by means of inverse micelle technique, and the catalyst is applied to the liquid-phase hydrogenation of saturated and unsaturated aldehydes. Nickel acetate tetra-hydrate was used as the raw material of catalyst in this invention. An aqueous solution dissolving nickel acetate tetra-hydrate was firstly added into the emulsion system comprising an oil-phase solvent and a surfactant. A homogeneous inverse micelles or microemulsion system was formed after vigorous agitation. Then the nickel ions in inverse micelles were reduced to form nano-particles by the reducing agent of sodium borohydride aqueous solution at room temperature. Finally, the nano Ni-B catalyst having highly catalytic activity was obtained after centrifuging and washing with water and ethanol. The Ni-B catalyst was a uniform nano-solid with an average particle size less than 5 nanometers, which could be used directly as the catalyst for the liquid-phase hydrogenation of saturated and unsaturated aldehydes such as butyraldehyde, crotonaldehyde, and furfural.
