Abstract

The present invention relates to a synchro mechanism (1) for a correlated seat-backrest motion of an office chair, having a base support (2) which may be placed on a chair column, a seat and/or seat support (4), and a backrest support (5). In order to provide a constructively simple synchro mechanism (1), a backrest support (5), which may be pivoted around a transverse axis (14), is directly connected in an articulated way both to the base support (2) and also to the rear end region (17) of the seat and/or seat support (4) in such a way that a pivot motion of the backrest to the rear induces a lowering motion of the rear region of the seat support (4). In addition, the seat and/or seat support (4), which may also be pivoted around a transverse axis, is connected in an articulated way to the base support (2) in such a way that a horizontal shifting motion to the rear is superimposed on the lowering motion of the seat support (4). Through the direct connection of the backrest support (5) to the base support (2) and seat and/or seat support (4) it is possible to significantly simplify the construction of the synchro mechanism (1). A complex connecting rod arrangement, in the form of a four-bar chain, for example, is dispensed with. Nonetheless, thanks to the design of the synchro mechanism (1) according to the present invention, the achievable seat comfort is comparable to the synchro mechanism having a more complex construction.
