Abstract

A reclining seat comprising a generally rigid outer shell 18 containing a seat base 16 and a back rest 14. The seat base and back rest are coupled together for movement with respect to the shell from an upright state to a reclined state by forward sliding movement to the seat base and corresponding downward movement of the top edge of the back rest. The back rest comprises a flexible diaphragm.
