Abstract

Disclosed is a shock absorber for a sliding door installed to furniture, such as a sink, a wardrobe, or the like, which can significantly reduce a noise generated when the door is closed. The shock absorber includes a cylinder made of a tube forming a storage space therein, and formed with a rod fixing boss on an inner surface thereof, and a piston. The piston has an outer case formed in a tube having both opened ends, with a bumper being engaged to an end portion of the outer case; a first resilient spring inserted in the outer case; an oil flow blocking housing accommodating an end portion of the first resilient spring and formed with a through-hole at the center portion thereof; a pressing bracket inserted in the oil flow blocking housing, and having a boss having an outer surface of a serration shape which is inserted into the through-hole of the oil flow blocking housing, and a cap integrally extended from the boss and formed with a plurality of oil flow ports; a second resilient spring having both end portions supported by the boss of the pressing bracket between the oil flow blocking housing and an inner periphery surface of the cap; a packing accommodated in the outer case; a sealing housing closely contacting the packing and blocking an opened side of the outer case; and a rod connected to the pressing bracket through the sealing housing and the packing and having a front end portion inserted into the rod fixing boss of the cylinder.
