Abstract

The present invention relates to a portable device, and in particular to a portable device that automatically determines if it is being carried and can perform a specific function with a non-pushbutton process. The portable device comprises a microprocessor and an acceleration detector built therein. When the acceleration detector detects vibration, a determination is made that the device is being carried and it is prevented from entering a locking status. Furthermore, when the portable device is acted upon by an external force to make continuous motion of, for example, displacement or tilting, the acceleration detector generates a signal. After the signal is subjected to calculation and comparison with a sample database by the microprocessor, a specific corresponding instruction for carrying out a specific function mode is provided. Thus, it is possible to provide the user with efficient and convenient operation, and exclude the interference caused by the external surroundings.
