An information recording medium, provided with: a first recording layer (L0 layer) to record therein record information by irradiating laser light (LB); and a second recording layer (L1 layer )to record therein the record information by irradiating the laser light through the first recording layer, the first recording layer having a pre-recording area (105) in which pre-information is recorded in advance, the second recording layer having a calibration area (113) which is to record therein pattern information for obtaining an optimum power of the laser light in the second recording layer, at a position where the laser light is irradiated through the pre-recording area.
