Abstract

To provide an exhaust emission control device capable of improving exhaust effect performance, by adjusting output of an engine without depending on only the pipe length, when forming the exhaust emission control device by storing and arranging a catalyst cylindrical body composed of a cylindrical body in a muffler. This exhaust emission control device is formed by storing the catalyst cylindrical body formed of a porous plate for carrying a catalyst in the muffler having a plurality of expansion chambers. In the exhaust emission control device, the catalyst cylindrical body 15 is the expansion chamber 8 nearest to a connecting pipe 11 with an exhaust pipe being the engine side; and is arranged in the most upstream expansion chamber 8 of an exhaust flow; the outer periphery of the catalyst cylindrical body is covered with an outer cylinder 12; a leak hole 17 separating in the longitudinal direction and overlapping in the longitudinal direction with the catalyst cylindrical body, is arranged in the outer cylinder; and a part of exhaust gas passing through the catalyst cylindrical body periphery is leaked to the expansion chamber via the leak hole.
