Abstract

This invention relates to a method to recognize a hindrance on a railway section, where the light-space profile before a vehicle is supervised by at least one sensor arranged on the vehicle. It is suggested that in a measure-drive a 3 dimensional image is obtained from light-space profile measured along the railway section at a familiar position. The 3 dimensional image is stored when a measured light-space profile deviates from a known regular light-space profile in a range not interfering the drive-operation. In the drive-operation, an actual measured light-space profile is compared with the light-space profile obtained from the 3 dimensional image for the same position on the railway section. When a difference exists, a hindrance is displayed.
