Abstract

This invention provides a driving method for preventing display unevenness from being caused even if rewriting speed is made high. The driving method has a reset period wherein all pixels are made to be in a planar state by applying a reset signal to a liquid crystal which constitutes all pixels, a rewriting period wherein the display state of the liquid crystal which constitutes all pixels is rewritten by repeating rewriting operations for applying a selection signal to the liquid crystal which constitutes pixels on a common selection electrodes to select a display state and applying a non-selection signal to the liquid crystal which constitutes pixels on a non-selection signal and an entire surface collective non-selection state maintaining period wherein all pixels are maintained in a non-selection state by applying the non-selection signal to the liquid crystal which constitutes all pixels.
