Abstract

This invention relates to an adjustable tool holder with anti-vibration design for ultra precision turning, including: a tool holder top plate; a tool support, a tool holder body, a tool holder bottom plate, a retaining pin, a tuning rod and an adjustment screw rod. The tool holder top plate is provided at bottom edges of a rectangular body thereof with a limiting grove. The groove is able to engage with the limiting flange of the tool holder body. The bottom edges of the tool support include a T-slide and a wedge slant contacting and engaging with a T-slide, a wedge face provided to bottom side edges of a rectangular body of the tool holder body, to form a top face such that the tool support is able to move vertically along the sides of the rectangular body of the tool holder body. The top face is able to adapt to the base plate of the tool holder in accompaniment with the bottom edges of the tool holder body. The bottom side edges of the tool holder body are provided with a tuning opening through which the tuning rod may insert. A tuning and retaining opening of the rod matches a tuning and retaining pin of a universal joint shaft, such that rotation of the tuning rod would link the universal joint shaft. The bore of the shaft matches a universal retaining pin of a universal joint adjustment assembly such that rotation of the tuning rod would link the adjustment screw rod, causing an adjustment screw hole of the retaining pin secured to the tool support to drive vertical movement of the tool support along the bottom side edges of the tool holder body. Rotation of the universal joint adjustment assembly is able to ascend or descend the elevation of the tool support along the slant so as to control the elevation of the tool position for aligning with the central position of the spindle of the turning lathe.
