Abstract
A synchronous motor which is low in cost and has high efficient heat dissipating function but accompanied with no substantial increase in volume is provided. A synchronous motor (1) comprises a stator core (12) formed by laminating a large number of steel plates, and a plurality of protrusions (50) formed on the outer surface of the stator core (12). The steel plates include first steel plates (30B) and second steel plates (30A). The first steel plate (30B) has a plurality of projections (35) formed at intervals along its outer peripheral edge and a predetermined number of pieces of the first steel plate (30B) are laminated so as to overlap the projections (35) to each other to form a plurality of protrusions (50) of a specified thickness. The second steel plate (30A) has no projection formed on its outer peripheral edge and a laminate of a predetermined number of pieces of the second steel plate (30A) is superposed on the laminate of the predetermined number of pieces of the first steel plate (30B) so as to form a space of required interval between the protrusions (50) of the first steel plates (30B) and the protrusions (50) of the first steel plates (30B) adjoining in the direction of laminate.
