Abstract

The present invention provides a low-power flash ADC based on complementary average-value methodology, wherein one of the input ends in all comparators of flash ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) is fixed at the half-voltage of the full-scaled voltage (Vref/2), so that it is easier to design all comparators in the flash ADC. Even if the number of converting bits increases, the difficulty in designing the single comparator will not significantly increase. The method of the present invention can make each comparator operate at the most sensitive operating point (half-voltage of the full-scale), so as to increase the conversion speed of overall circuit, and reduce the power consumption. In addition, the circuit in the present invention is not closely related to the manufacturing process, and therefore the design methodology of low-power flash ADC based on the complementary average-value in the present invention can be transferred to the next stage of processing easily during processing conversion, which is suitable to be applied in the integration of SOC.
