Abstract

A metallic pigment of this invention is mixed in a resin, thereby providing a synthetic resin composition which can be formed into a molding enriched in metallic feeling and having excellent appearance free of weld marks. The metallic pigment comprises crystalline inorganic particles whose surfaces have been metallized, characterized in that the metallized particles satisfy the following relationships of the formulae: (a) 20≤Dx≤300 (μm), (b) As≤3 and (c) Hd≤6.5. Among above, Dx: particle diameter (μm) at which in a particle size distribution measured by FRA manufactured by Microtrack, the weight cumulative total calculated from large particle side is 50 wt.%; As: average aspect ratio of particles obtained by observation through an electron microscope (SEM); and Hd: Mohs hardness value (according to new Mohs hardness meter).
