Abstract

The subject of the present invention is to provide an oxygen sensor using an oxide semiconductor which provides output having a relationship between logarithm of oxygen partial pressure and output which is approximately linear over a wider range of oxygen partial pressure than conventional one. To achieve the object, the oxygen sensor using the oxygen semiconductor includes a parallel circuit comprising a plurality of parallel-connected circuits, in which a standard resistor is serially connected to a gas detection material made of an oxide semiconductor. The oxygen sensor defines the sum of or average of the potential differences of a plurality of standard resistors or the sum or average of the potential differences of a plurality of gas detection materials as sensor output. An oxygen sensor device can be thereby provided which is used for an air-fuel ratio feedback control system for combustion optimization of a combustion engine.
