Abstract

An electrostatic atomizing device is provided, in which porous ceramic capillaries are used as conveyers of liquid to release charged liquid fine particles from the front end of the capillaries. By using capillaries with a Ph at equipotential point value that is lower than that of the selected liquid, while releasing the minus-charged fine particles, ions such as Ca2+ or Mg2+ will be carried away from the discharging end by the electroosmotic flow caused inside the capillaries. As a result, ions will not react with CO2 in the air at the discharging end to form compounds like CaCO3 and MgO. Therefore, the effect of electrostatic atomization will last long with stability.
