Abstract

The connector of the present invention is connected to FPC. The connector includes: an insulative socket housing with a terminal-plugging opening approximately rectangular for being plugged into FPC; an insulative lid housing which can be installed on the socket housing in an opened/closed way. The socket housing includes: a lower plate part which extends from the terminal-plugging opening along the plugging direction of the FPC; and a spring-type contact extending along the inner side of the lower-plate part. The lid housing includes: a top plate part opposed to the lower-plate part; a first guiding piece and a second guiding piece installed at both ends of the top plate part. For the connector, the FPC is plugged into the terminal-plugging opening in the state of opening the lid housing, so that the terminal part of the FPC is located at the contact of the spring-type contact. Then, the lid housing is closed, and one side of the FPC is clamped for embedding it into the lower-plate part by the first guiding piece and the second guiding piece of the lid housing, and the terminal part of the FPC applies force toward the spring-type contact through the top-plate part of the lid housing. Therefore, according to the present invention, the direction crossing the plugging direction of FPC can be aligned easily since the first guiding piece and the second guiding piece clamp the FPC.
