Abstract

The present invention provides a gear coupling that enhances accuracy in a shaft connection and extends life of a bearing. In a gear coupling, an internal gear (2) and an external gear (1) engage with each other with clearance and transmit torque, the gears can slide in a thrust direction, and a lubricant (5) for lubrication between engaging surfaces (4) is sealed in the clearance between the internal teeth gear (2) and the external teeth gear (1). A lubricant storage (6) having a greater capacity than the clearance between the internal teeth gear (2) and the external teeth gear (1) is provided in an inner face of the internal teeth gear (2). The above structure can compensate generated thrust force, preventing the thrust force from being applied to a main shaft or motor shaft of a machine tool.
