Abstract

According to the method developed for the clinical measurement of the aggregation feature of red blood cells (erythrocytes) using standard microhematocrit tubes, the disaggregation (dispersion of erythrocyte aggregates) required at the beginning of the measurement process is achieved by the blood sample (7) in the capillary glass tube (6). It is achieved by moving back and forth via a solenoid (1), piston (2) and cylinder (3). The light transmittance of the blood sample is recorded following the termination of this movement (8, 9, 14), and this record (light transmittance time course) is analyzed mathematically with the help of a computer (15) and the parameters reflecting the size and time course of erythrocyte aggregation are calculated.
