Abstract

Device and method to protect stitches (22) on a fabric (12) being worked in textile machines (10) equipped with at least a rotary drum (11) on the periphery of which a plurality of rotary working cylinders (16, 116) are assembled. The device includes means (24, 25) selectively rotating and able to temporarily disconnect the drive to transmit rotatory motion only to the working cylinders (16, 116) which are substantially in correspondence with said stitch (22) advancing around said drum (11). <IMAGE>
