Abstract

The proposed DC60 (23/05/44) is a method, communication system and receiving device (1) for the accounting of access-controlled programs and/or data which are emitted by a unidirectional and cryptographically transmitted transmitter (2, 2') and received by at least one receiving device (1). The monetary value is stored in the data memory (16) of the receiving device (1). Claims (25)

1. The method for accounting for access-controlled programs and/or data that are encrypted and unidirectionally transmitted by a transmitter (2, 2') and received by at least one receiver (1) is as follows: The encrypted access-controlled program and/or data transmitted shall be decrypted in the receiver (1) for access to the access-controlled program and/or data using the receiver (1) if the access condition information for the access-controlled program and/or data coincides with the privilege information (14) stored in the receiver (1), where the monetary value is stored in the receiver (16) data memory. The receiving device (1), in accordance with the preceding claim, whereby a module for recording expenses (18) is provided in a manner in which the module shall generate records of electronically marked accounting entries and store these entries in the data memory (17) of the receiving device (1), in which these accounting entries shall contain the amount of the expense and/or expense parameters for calculating the amount of the expense for accessing the non-encrypted access-controlled program and/or data, including the identification of the vendor of these access-controlled programs and/or data. 21. The receiving device (1) under any of the claims of Claim 20 or Claim 21, where the receiving device 1 includes an interface (104) for exchanging information with the external transponder (6) located outside the receiving device (1); the receiving device (1) includes an accounting module (103) which transmits the record of the accounting that has been generated to the transponder (6) via the interface (104); and the receiving device (1) includes a repackaging module (102) which receives the repackage volume from the transponder (6) via the interface (104) and repackages or repacks the value of such currency with the received repackage volume. 25. Receiving device (1) in accordance with any one of the claims of Claims 19 through 24, where the programs consist of digital audio and/or video signals.
