A novel ethylphenoxyacetic amino acid derivative represented by the general formula (chemical formula) (where R1 represents hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, or eralkyl group; R2 represents hydrogen atom or halogen atom; Carbon atoms marked (R) represent carbon atoms in the (R) configuration; carbon atoms marked (S) represent carbon atoms in the (S) configuration; and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, which have a good stimulating effect on both B2-1 and B3-adrenoceptors and are useful as analgesic agents and promote the elimination of urinary stones.

Ethylphenoxyacetic amino acid derivatives represented by the general formula (chemical formula) (where R1 represents a hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, or aralkyl group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or halogen atom; carbon atom marked with (R) represents the carbon atom in the (R) configuration; carbon atom marked with (S) represents the carbon atom in the (S) configuration)) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts. 2. The ethylphenoxyacetic amino acid derivatives represented by the general formula: (chemical formula) (where R2 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom; the carbon atom marked with (R) represents the carbon atom in the (R) configuration; the carbon atom marked with (S) represents the carbon atom in the (S) configuration) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts as claimed in claim 1. 3. 2-[4-[2-[[(1s,2r)-2-hydroxy-2-(4hydroxyphenyl)-1-methylethyl]amino]ethyl]-phenoxy]acetic acid and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts as claimed in claim 2. 4. 2-[3-fluoro-4-[2-[[(1S,2R)-2-hydroxy-2-[4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-methylethyl]-amino]ethyl]phenoxy]acetic acid and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts as claimed in claim 2. 5. A pharmaceutical mixture containing an amino acid derivative, ethylphenoxyacetic acid, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts as claimed under any one of claims 1, 2, 3, or 4. 6. An analgesic and eliminating agent for urinary tract stones, containing an amino acid derivative, ethylphenoxyacetic acid, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts, as claimed under any one of claims 1, 2, 3, or 4, as the active ingredient. 7. The use of ethyl phenoxyacetic amino acid derivatives or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, as claimed in any one of claims 1, 2, 3, or 4, for the manufacture of pharmaceutical mixtures for the treatment of urinary stones. 8. The use of ethyl phenoxyacetic amino acid derivatives or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, as claimed in any one of claims 1, 2, 3, or 4, as an analgesic and prophylactic agent for the expulsion of urinary stones. 9. A process for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical mixture for the treatment of urinary stones characterized by the use of ethylphenoxyacetic amino acid derivatives or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, as claimed in any one of claims 1, 2, 3 or 4, as the principal component of the said pharmaceutical mixture.
