Foam of claim 15 where such foam is 0.95 cm or thicker in which (A) in component A, at least one such alkenyl aromatic polymer contains more than 50 percent by weight of alkenyl aromatic monomer units, has a molecular weight (Mw) from 120,000 to 350,000 and is present in an amount from 80 to 99.5 percent by weight (on a basis of the total weight of components A and B); (B) such a mostly random interpolymer, component (B), has an I2 of 0.3 to 30 g/10 min, and an Mw/Mn ratio of 1.8 to 10, and is present in an amount from 0.5 to 20 percent by weight. (by comparison of the total weight of components A and B) and composed of (1) 10 to 45 mole percent of polymer units derived from (a) such vinyl or vinylidine aromatic monomers replaced by the following formula (chemical formula) where R1 is chosen from a group of radicals consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radicals with three or fewer carbon atoms, and Ar is a phenyl group or phenyl groups replaced by 1 to 5 substitutes chosen from a group consisting of halo, C1-4-alkyl, and C1-4-haloalkyl, or (b) such aliphatic or cycloaliphatic vinyl or vinylidine monomers that are sterically deconsolidated are replaced by the following general formula (chemical formula) where A1 is a sterically deconsolidated aliphatic or cycloaliphatic substitute with up to 20 carbon atoms, R1 is chosen from a group of radicals consisting of hydrogen. or 1 to 4 alkyl radicals that are more satisfied with hydrogen or methyl, each R2 independently from a group of hydrogen-containing radicals and alkyl radicals with 1 to 4 carbon atoms that are more satisfied with hydrogen or methyl, or alternatively R1 and A1 together form a ring system, or (c) a combination of a and b and (2) 55 to 90 percent of the polymer units derived from ethylene and/or such alpha-olefins which contain at least one of the following: propylene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, butene-1, hexene-1 or octene-1, and (3) polymerized monomers. The ethylene-unsaturated compounds, apart from those from (1) and (2), shall contain norbonine or norbonine replaced by C1-10alkyl or C6-10aryl, and (C) such nucleating compounds, if present, shall contain calcium carbonate, talc, clay, silica, barium stearate, diatomaceous earth, a mixture of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate. (D) Such additives, if present, component (D) shall contain one or more inorganic fillers, pigments, antioxidants, acid scavengers, ultraviolet absorbers, flame retardants, process aids, other thermoplastic polymers, anti-stachym compounds and extrusion aids; (E) Such blowing agent, component (E) is present in a total amount of 0.5 to 3.0 mol/kg (by weight of the total weight of components A and B) and contains 50 percent or more inorganic blowing agent, carbon dioxide, hydrofluorocarbons, hydrocarbons or chemical blowing agents, and where the cell size of such foam is increased by 10 percent or more relative to the corresponding foam. 17. Foam of claim 15 where such foam is 2.5 cm thick or more and where (A) in component A, at least one such alkenyl aromatic polymer contains more than 50 percent by weight of alkenyl aromatic monomer units, has a molecular weight (Mw) from 130,000 to 325,000, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) from 2 to 7, and is present in an amount from 80 to 90 percent by weight (compared to the total weight of components A and B); (B) such a predominantly random interpolymer, component (B), has I2 from 0.5 to 10 g/10 min, and Mw/Mn from 2 to 5, and is present in an amount from 1 to 20 percent by weight. (based on the combined weight of components A and B) and comprises (1) from 13 to 39 mole percent of polymer units derived from (a) such vinyl aromatic monomers, which comprise styrene, alpha-methylstyrene, ortho-, meta-, and para-methylstyrene, and styrene with halogenated ring, or (b) such aliphatic or cycloaliphatic or vinylidine monomers, which comprise 5-ethylene-2-norbonine or 1-vinyl cyclo-hexene, 3-vinyl cyclo-hexene and 4-vinyl cyclohexene, or (c) a combination of a and b and (2) from 61 to 87 mole percent of polymer units derived from ethylene, or such ethylene and alpha-olefins. (1) The nucleating agent, if present, consists of one or more of the following: ethylene, or ethylene and propylene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, butene-1, hexene-1, or octeene-1; and (3) the polymerizable monomers which are unsaturated with ethylene, other than those derived from (1) and (2), namely norbonine; and (C) the nucleating agent, if present, consists of one or more of the following: mineral starch and a mixture of citric acid and sodium bicarbonate; and (D) the additives, if present, consists of one or more of the following: carbon brack, titanium dioxide, graphite, thermoplastic. (E) other polymers and one or more flame retardants, and (E) such blowers, component (E) is present in total amounts from 1.0 to 2.5 g-mol per kg, (based on the total weight of components A and B), which contains 70 percent or more of nitrogen, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), argon, carbon dioxide, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a), 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134), 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane, difluoromethane. (HFC-32), 1,1-difluoroethane (HFC-152a), pentafluoroethane (HFC-125), fluoroethane (HFC-161), and 1,1,1-trifluoroethane (HFC-143a), methane, ethane, propane, n-butane, isobutane, n-pentane, isopentane, cyclopentane, and neopentane, azo-dicarbonamide, azo-disobutyro-nitrile, benzene-sulfonyl-hydrazide, 4,4-oxybenzene-sulfonyl-semicarbaside, p-toluene-sulfonyl-semicarbaside, barium-azodiccarboxylate, N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-dinitrozoterep bicarbonate, one or more of these, and Where the cell size of such foam is expanded by 15 percent or more compared to a related foam devoid of mostly random interpolymers. 18. Foam of claim 17 in which the alkenyl aromatic polymer consists of (A) polystyrene, (B) an ethylene/styrene copolymer and a blower, (E) is propane, n-pentane, isobutane, carbon dioxide, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a) or 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134), one or more of these. 19. Foam of claim 15 in which the alkenyl aromatic polymer material Comprising more than 70 percent by weight of alkenyl aromatic monomer units, predominantly random interpolymers are incorporated to increase cell size by 15 percent or more compared to related foams without predominantly random interpolymers, and the foam has a density from 10 to 150 kg/m³ and a cell size of 0.05 to 5.0 mm. 23. Patent foam 15 in which the alkenyl aromatic polymer material consists of more than 70 percent by weight of alkenyl aromatic monomer units, predominantly random interpolymers are incorporated to increase cell size by 15 percent or more compared to related foams without predominantly random interpolymers, and the foam has a density from 10 to 70 kg/m³ and a cell size of 0.1 to 1.5 mm.
