Abstract

DC60 (09/04/42) Methods and equipment for using two SIM cards with the same MSISDN number in a mobile telecommunications system. At least one subscriber identifier is allocated at least two identifier segments (SIMs), only one of which can be registered as active at any given time. A check in relation to location adjustment is performed to determine whether the location adjustment is associated with a subscriber identifier that has been allocated at least two identifier segments (SIMs). If so, it is checked whether the currently associated identifier segment (SIM) is registered as passive. If so, it is activated and the previously registered active identifier segment (SIM) is terminated. If a previously registered active identifier segment (SIM) is associated with an ongoing call while location adjustment is being performed using a previously registered passive identifier segment (SIM), the location adjustment... Claims (4)

1. The method for adjusting the mobile station (MS) location data in a honeycomb telecommunication system, which consists of at least one client address recorder (HLR) and to which each client is associated with one client reclassifier (MSISDN), and the mobile station (MS) consists of a client identity segment (SIM), is characterized as follows: - At least one client reclassifier (MSISDN) is allocated at least two client identity segments (SIMs), the active and passive states of which are defined in such a way that only one client identity segment allocated to the same client reclassifier can operate at any given time. - A check is performed in relation to location adjustment to determine whether the location adjustment is related to the client reclassifier (MSISDN) to which two client identity segments (SIMs) are allocated. - If the location adjustment is related to the client reclassifier (MSISDN) to which at least two client identity segments (SIMs) are allocated, It will check whether the associated SIM (SIM) is registered as passive, and if not, it will be activated, and any previously registered active SIMs will be deactivated. 2. The procedure under Claim 1 is as follows: If a previously registered active SIM is involved in an ongoing call at the same time that address adjustment is being performed by a previously registered passive SIM, the address adjustment is interrupted or postponed until the ongoing call has terminated. 3. The method under claim 2 involves adjusting information about completed or attempted locations related to registered or attempted SIM cards that are active during the call, typically using the call waiting function. 4. The Mobile Telecommunication Network Unit (HLR), which comprises the method (T) for linking the SIM card to the tenant identifier (MSISDN), is characterized as follows: The Network Unit (HLR) also comprises: - A special information unit (E) for linking at least two SIM cards to the same tenant identifier (MSISDN) for at least one tenant in such a way that only one SIM card can be registered as active at any given time. - A method for activating the relevant SIM card in response to location information adjustments and terminating the operation of previously registered active SIM cards in response to location information adjustments for the tenant to whom at least two SIM cards have been allocated and to whom such SIM cards are currently registered as passive.
