The absorbent material consists of a permeable liquid-filled top layer, an absorbent core, and a back layer. The core, positioned centrally, is sandwiched between the top and back layers. The back layer consists of a permeable, two-dimensional perforated film, and the core is composed of a fluid containment layer, while the back layer consists of an outer layer. Each layer, including the absorbent core and back layer, comprises at least one layer. Each layer has a fluid contact angle with the absorbent material and an area protruding underneath it, including the fluid containment layer's face-to-clothing surface and the outer layer's face-to-clothing surface. In some area, the wearer-facing surface of at least one layer has a fluid contact angle greater than the fluid contact angle of the adjacent layer's face-to-clothing surface.

Disposable absorbent material consists of a permeable top layer, an absorbent core, and a back layer. The core is sandwiched between the top and back layers. The back layer consists of a gas permeable film, and the core consists of a fluid containment layer, while the back layer consists of an outer layer. Each layer consists of at least one sheet, each with a face facing the wearer and another with a face facing the clothing. Each face has a fluid-to-absorbent contact angle with an area underneath that protrudes from the material, including the face facing the clothing of the fluid containment layer and the face facing the clothing of the outer layer. In this case, the face facing the clothing of at least one layer has an underneath area with a fluid-to-absorbent contact angle larger than the fluid-to-absorbent contact angle of the wearer's face of the same layer.
