Abstract

This invention, OCR (Optical Characteristics and Transfusion), involves developing a nanoemulsion formulation containing lemon peel extract. The formulation comprises lemon peel extract, a non-ionic surfactant, a co-surfactant, and water in optimal ratios. This results in a highly stable nanoemulsion under various storage conditions, improved active ingredient penetration into the skin, enhanced skin nourishment, and antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It is suitable for use in or as an ingredient in cosmetic products. The manufacturing process utilizes phase inversion composition, a low-energy process that does not require expensive equipment, thus reducing energy consumption and production costs.

Claims (5)

OCR 1. The nanoemulsion composition contains lemon peel extract, consisting of: 0.1-5% by weight of lemon peel extract; 3-27% by weight of nonpolar surfactant; 0.5-10% by weight of co-surfactant; and water, adjusted to 100% by weight. The nonpolar surfactant can be selected from polysorbate, polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers, or a mixture of them. The co-surfactant can be selected from glycerol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, isoprene glycol, or a mixture of them. 2. The nanoemulsion composition contains lemon peel extract as per claim 1, whereby the lemon peel extract may be selected from lemon peel extract, salts of lemon peel extract, active compounds isolated from lemon peel extract, salts of active compounds isolated from lemon peel extract, or a mixture of such compounds. 3. The nanoemulsion composition containing lemon peel extract, as per claim 1 or 2, may also include, in addition, selected substances from acceptable cosmetic and pharmaceutical intermediates, active ingredients, coloring agents, fragrances, preservatives, thickeners, or a combination of such substances. 4. The nanoemulsion composition contains lemon peel extract, as per claim 3, which states that: - The acceptable cosmetic and pharmaceutical intermediate is a buffer solution. - The active ingredient can be selected from vitamins, antioxidants, or skin brightening agents. - The coloring agent can be selected from natural colors, synthetic colors, or a combination of these. - The fragrance can be selected from essential oils, perfumes, or a combination of these. - The preservative can be selected from chlorphensin, methylisothiazolinone, benzalkonium chloride, or a combination of these. - The thickening agent can be selected from carbomer, carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, or hydroxypropyl cellulose. (hydroxypropyl cellulose), methyl cellulose, or a mixture of these substances. 5. Nanoemulsion composition containing lemon peel extract, as per claim 3 or 4, whereby: - Cosmetic and pharmaceutical acceptable intermediates: 60-90% by weight - Active ingredient: 0.1-1% by weight - Coloring agent: 0.01-0.3% by weight - Fragrance agent: 0.1-0.5% by weight - Preservative: 0.1-1% by weight - Thickening agent: 0.1-1% by weight
