Abstract

The other end of the pressure point is flat and located inside the handle, in contact with the cool side of the thermoelectric module. The pressure point conducts heat from the skin at the pressure point to the cool side of the thermoelectric module. The other side of the thermoelectric module, the hot side, is placed in contact with the closed cross-section of a water pipe fitted inside the handle. The metal surface of the water pipe conducts heat from the hot side of the thermoelectric module to the water, thereby cooling the hot side. A cap is located at the end of the water pipe at the level of the handle for filling and draining the water when the temperature rises. The purpose of this invention is to utilize the cooling or heating from a thermoelectric device for acupressure therapy.

Claims

1. A thermoelectric acupressure device with special characteristics: it is equipped with a handle (1) which is made of a material that is resistant to low and high temperatures and has low thermal conductivity, and is compact in size and length and suitable for use in the hand to press the acupressure point. At one end of the handle (1) is equipped with an acupressure head (2) which is made of a material with high thermal conductivity and has a curved, convex or concave surface to fit snugly against the skin at the point of pressure. The other side of the pressure point (2) is a smooth surface positioned inside the handle (1) and in contact with the cold side (31) of the thermoelectric module (3). The pressure point (2) conducts heat from the skin at the pressure point to the cold side (31) of the thermoelectric module (3). The other side of the thermoelectric module (3) is the hot side (32), positioned in contact with the closed cross-sectional surface of the water tube (5), which is fitted inside the handle (1). The water tube (5), made of a high thermal conductivity metal, conducts heat from the hot side (32) of the thermoelectric module (3) to water or coolant (6) to cool the hot side (32) of the thermoelectric module (3). At the other end of the water tube (5), a cap (7) is positioned at the end of the handle (1) for refilling or draining the water or coolant (6) when the temperature rises.
