The composition under Reputation 1 with an optimal pH from 6.2 to 9; an optimal pH from 6.5 to 8.5; or an optimal pH from 6.5 to 8. The composition under Reputation 1 or Reputation 2 in which alkyl ether carboxylic acids or their carboxylate salts are present at levels from 1 to 10 percent by weight; or an optimal level from 2 to 7.5 percent by weight; or any one of the above-mentioned compositions in which alkyl ether carboxylic acids or their carboxylate salts are denoted by (chemical formula) where R represents a saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain C6-C22; R1 and R2 are both hydrogen groups; or R1 is hydrogen and R2 is CH3; or R1 is CH3 and R2 is hydrogen; R3 is hydrogen; or a suitable soluble cation: sodium, potassium, ammonium, or substituted ammonium; And a is a number from 2 to 20, appropriate 3 to 12, which represents the number of repeating units. 5. A composition under claim 7 in which the cationic guar polymer is quatemised hydroxyl ethyl cellulose. 10. Any one of the above-mentioned compositions in which it also contains a betaine surfactant. 11. Any one of the above-mentioned compositions in which it also contains a selection of dye mixtures, enzymes, anti-re-adhesion polymers, dye transfer inhibitors, builders, sequestrants, sunscreens and/or stain-releasing polymers.
