Claims (30)

A video camera assembly and recording and/or video tape production equipment consisting of a hollow housing with an internal space where the median plane is longitudinally and an opening located on the top and side of such hollow housing, offset to one side of the median plane; the video camera body, consisting of the camera lens assembly, mounted in such internal space and offset to the opposite side of the median plane; the video recorder and/or video tape production equipment, mounted in such internal space and offset to one side of the median plane opposite the video camera body, in a manner that overlaps longitudinally with the video camera body; and such video recorder and/or video tape production equipment, consisting of a cassette slot that moves between the feed position, which is completely inside the hollow housing, and the eject position, from which the video tape in the cassette slot protrudes from the opening; and a clamping tab that runs along the outside of the hollow housing on the opposite side of the video camera body. It is secured at both ends to the lower part of the hollow housing so that the user's hand can be inserted between the gripping bars and the sides of the hollow housing, held in the user's palm. A lid is mounted on the hollow housing to move between the closed position, which closes the opening at the top of the hollow housing when the tape slot is in the fed position, and the open position, which leaves the opening unobstructed, allowing the tape slot to move to the eject position.

The first and second rows of such switches are arranged on the exterior of such hollow housing on the opposite side of the median plane.

Video camera and recording equipment and/or production of images on/from video cassette tapes as per claim 1, where the cassette slot has a movable cover that extends over the outer side of the cassette slot to form a corresponding portion of the surface of the first side of the hollow housing when the cassette slot is in the fed position, and has an additional component of a cover that is rotated on the hollow housing to cause an angular displacement around an axis adjacent to the median plane at the top of the hollow housing between the closed position for closing the opening at the top of the hollow housing when the cassette slot is in the fed position and the open position which leaves the opening unobstructed for the movement of the cassette slot to the eject position, the cover has an edge that slopes downwards along the side away from the rotating axis and overlaps the upper edge of the cover when the cover is moved to the closed position with the cassette slot in the fed position.

The video camera and recording equipment and/or production of images on/from video cassette tapes as per claim 1, with the additional components of a lid mounted on the hollow housing that moves between the closed position for closing the opening on the top of the hollow housing when the cassette slot is in the fed position and the open position which leaves the opening unobstructed for the movement of the cassette slot to the eject position, and an actuable ejection control device for causing such movement of the cassette slot to the eject position. The ejection control device is mounted on the top of the hollow housing at the location covered by the lid in the closed position of the lid so that access to the ejection control device for the purpose of activating the ejection control device can only be made when the lid is in the open position.

Video camera and recording equipment and/or production of images on/from video cassette tapes as per claim 1, whereby the cassette slot contains a cassette holder and a movable cover plate which extends over the outer side of the cassette slot to create a corresponding part of the surface of the first side of the hollow housing when the cassette slot is in the fed position, and a mounting device for the cassette holder to cause an upward and outward lateral displacement of the cassette holder relative to the hollow housing when the cassette slot is moved to the eject position to facilitate the manual insertion and ejection of the cassette in the cassette holder when in the eject position.

The viewfinder's length can be adjusted axially in a retractable cylinder state between the retracted (idle) and extended (operating) positions, where the viewfinder is longer than the hollow housing. The viewfinder comprises an axially retractable cylinder containing the video screen, lens, and cover. The lens has a selected focal length to achieve focusing on the video screen in the extended operating position. A gripping bar runs along the outside of the hollow housing on the opposite side of the viewfinder and is attached at its end to the lower part of the housing, allowing the user's hand to be inserted between the bar and one side of the housing for a secure grip.

The cassette slot features a cassette holder and a movable cover plate on the holder that extends over the outer side of the cassette slot to create a corresponding surface of one side of the hollow housing when the cassette slot is in the fed position. A flexible gripping strip is positioned along the outside of the hollow housing on the outside of the cover plate opposite the video camera and is spaced apart from the cover plate. The fastening devices for the ends of the gripping strip are sequentially attached to the hollow housing on the front and back of the cover plate so that the user's hand can be inserted between the gripping strip and one side of the hollow housing to hold the housing in the palm of the hand. A rotating lid on the hollow housing creates angular displacement around an axis adjacent to the median plane at the top of the hollow housing between the closed position for closing the opening at the top of the hollow housing when the cassette slot is in the fed position and the open position which leaves the opening unobstructed for the movement of the cassette slot to the eject position. The cover has an edge that slopes downwards along one side away from the pivot axis and overlaps the upper edge of the cover plate when the cover is moved to the closed position with the tape cassette slot in the fed position.
