Abstract

A fiber conditioning mixture, particularly useful for conditioning human hair, consists of a cationic surface-activating conditioner, namely a quaternary ammonium halide, an insoluble and typically solid alkyl polylower such as polyethylene, and a hydrocarbon solvent for use with alkyl polylower such as mineral oil. This is liquidized and dispersed in water with the presence of the cationic surface-activating conditioner and water. The mixture results in a significantly improved hair texture compared to a control mixture containing only the cationic surface-activating conditioner. The recommended fiber conditioning mixture consists of water and an anionic organic detergent and is used as a shampoo for human hair. This invention also includes a process for conditioning fiber materials, comprising a human hair shampoo and conditioner until it improves wet combability, dry combability, and styling, and reduces frizz caused by static electricity. This invention also includes a method for fabricating the fabricated fiber conditioning mixture and shampoo.
