Description
(54) COMPOSITION OF WELDING WIRE
The invention relates to welding production. It can be used as an adhesive material in copper welding, preferably in protective gas with both melting and non-consumable electrodes. From wires intended for welding copper and ensuring high electrical conductivity of the seams, the following wire is known,%: Bor 0.02-0.1 Copper Rest 1. However, a comprehensive assessment of the welding-technological properties of this wire carried out at the Institute of Electric Welding showed that it did not provides the required quality of welded joints, especially when welding oxygen-containing grades of copper. The aim of the invention is the development of wire for welding copper, mainly in a protective gas environment, which would provide high-quality welded joints and high electrical conductivity of welds when welding various copper grades. The goal is achieved by introducing lithium wire into the composition with the following ratio of ingredients, wt.%: Lithium 0.05-0.5 Copper Remaining It is an effective deoxidizing agent for copper and its alloys, lithium prevents the formation of pores in the joints and thus ensures high-quality welds at its minimum concentrations in the wire, as well as high electrical conductivity of the seams. Especially effective is the use of lithium as a deoxidizing agent when welding oxygen-containing copper. In this case, unlike other active deoxidizing agents, lithium provides high mechanical properties of welded joints. Studies have shown that when the content in the welding wire is less than 0.05% lithium, pores appear in the welds, and when the lithium content in the wire exceeds 0.5%, cracks appear in the welds. Examples and results of testing experienced wires during welding with a melting electrode in an argon medium of copper Ml. are shown in the table: Experienced wires 02 I03 mm for testing were made of ingots melted in a vacuum induction furnace.
