The invention relates to agriculture, in particular to methods for harvesting root crops.

There is a method of harvesting root crops, for example, sugar beet, which includes digging up root crops, extracting them from the ground for the foliage, followed by trimming the foliage 1.

However, this method of harvesting does not provide good quality pruning tops, which entails a manual cleaning of the heads of root crops from the residues of the tops.
