The known method of measuring distances using an electro-optical distance meter fl, according to which the measured light paths are determined from the phase difference between the distance and the support. foot signals generated at the outputs of the photodetectors. In this case, the phase transfer of the remote and reference signals to a low frequency is carried out with the help of a resonator in which two photodetectors are placed. However, this method is not sufficiently accurate due to the change in the magnitude and location of the signal on the photocathode of the photomultiplier, the change in the power mode of the photomultiplier, as well as the inconsequence of the passage of electrons through the photocathode layer. There is also known a method of measuring pac tions G2, in which a beam of light is modulated by polarization with an electric modulator, sent to a distance returned, from a distance the beam is demodulated with frequency conversion, the distance from the reference signal and the distance signal is determined. The implementation of this method is associated with the complexity of the device, since. two crystal modulators, two generators are required, which leads to an increase in the size of the device. The measurement accuracy in this case is significantly affected by the frequency instability of the oscillators, as well as the limited increase in the frequency of the modulators, as. with increasing frequency, the width of the STRIP increases in frequency instability, which leads to phase 1M errors. The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy and automate the measurement process. The goal is achieved by the fact that in an electro-optical modulator, two beams are simultaneously modulated, one of which is reference and the other is remote, returned from a distance and reference rays 6 are demodulated at the modulation frequency and simultaneously converted by periodic oscillation of the electro-optical modulator along ray of light. The drawing shows the functional diagram of the device for the implementation of the proposed method. It contains the light source 1, mirrors with an external coating 2, prisms with an external coating 3, an electro-optical light modulator 4, a generator of 5 large-scale oscillations. An RF generator, a reflector 6, a mirror with an external coating 7, analyzers 8, photodetectors 9, a guide The dd displacement modulator 10, low frequency amplifier 11 and phase meter 12. Flat-plane light from both outputs of light source 1 (gas. laser) using mirrors 2 and prism 3 is directed to an electro-optical light modulator 4, which is supplied with power at a frequency modulation f o Microwave generator 5. The half-modulated pisaa beams are directed: one (more intense beam) at a distance of reflector 6, the other (less intense) at mirror 7 installed inside the device. After reflecting, both beams pass through the light modulator again and Depending on the distances D ,, UPS, the ellipticity of the reference and remote signals increases or decreases, then the rays pass through the analyzers 8 and arrive at the photodetector NIKI 9. At constant distances x p and D / points at the outputs of the PMT, the photomultipliers are constant. When periodically changing, the branches D and BD are within the half-wavelength of the module. cI / i with a certain frequency P (for example, by moving a modulator) the amplitudes of the currents at the photomultiplier outputs 4 will change with the same frequency P. At the same time, the phase intensity of the signals taken from the PV outputs will depend on the measured distance to the reflector. QH., 3),), gae is the phase difference of the reference and / vis. tant signals; I is the modulation wavelength; 1) iB - distance (see drawing). Claims The method of measuring the distance at which a light beam is modulated by polarization using an electro-optical modulator is sent to a distance returning from a distance, the beam is demodulated with frequency conversion, and the distance is determined by the magnitude of the phase difference between the reference and remote signals, in that In order to increase accuracy and automate the measurement process, in an electro-optical modulator, two beams are simultaneously modulated, one of which is: the reference, and the other is remote, returned from the distance and the support1 The rays are demodulated at the modulation frequency and, at the same time, the frequency is converted by periodic oscillation of the electro-optical modulator along the light beam.
