Портал приводитс  в движение с помощью ходового винта 19 и гайки 18, расположенных близко к центру т жести портала. Замыкающий мостик превращает портал в замкнутый контур и тем самым значительно увеличивает его жесткость. Поэтому направл ющие портала меньше деформируютс  при динамических нагрузках на портал во врем  работы. Размещение механизма перемещени  портала близко к центру т жести портала уменьшает колебани  портала в горизонтальной плоскости. Размещение измерительной линейки ближе к центру измерени  позвол ет лучше соблюдать принцип Аббе.
