Description
(54) DOUBLE-WELDED HEAT-INSULATING COATING
The choice of shungizite gravel as a heat insulating layer is justified by laboratory and industrial research. Compared with other backfills (perlite, vermiculite), it has been found to have an optimal set of properties that meet the requirements for materials for thermally insulating metal in carpets. Shungizite (fraction 5–15 mm) effectively protects the metal from cooling, does not dust, is well removed after service, does not stick to the lining, is evenly distributed on the surface of the slag when it is injected.
As shown by experiments under production conditions, when insulating a metal mirror in 160 tons of NLIZ forges with a layer of shungizite less than 40 mm thick, the shungizite granules are largely melted, without providing effective thermal insulation of the liquid steel. These data are in accordance with the theoretical calculation of the thickness of the backfill layer for materials with similar heat insulating properties. Thus, the initial layer of shungizite in each particular case (depending on the capacity of the bucket, the duration of the casting, etc.) must ensure its thickness at the end of service at least 40 mm. Under conditions of prolonged casting reaching 2 to 2.5 hours in large-capacity ladles, this layer should be approximately 100-150 mm.
В производственных услови х при разливке стали в 160 т ковши хорошо зарекомендовали себ следующие варианты двухслойного покрыти ;Under production conditions when casting steel in 160 tons, buckets have well recommended the following two-layer coatings;
