The converter’s shelter is known; it consists of two stationary side walls and a vertical wall, equipped with louvre curtains, located above the converter’s mouth and napylnik, and the gas elbows. However, this cover does not provide the required hermetic marking of the converter and complicates its operation.

The proposed cover is characterized by the fact that it is provided with front walls suspended in the upper part on the rollers and with screens fastened on the inside, as well as with an inclined damper located above the front walls and connected on each side with a two-arm lever, driven, and the second - with counterloading. Screens can be mounted on the front walls of the ball. This ensures that the converter gases are trapped both during the conversion process and when the converter is blown out for loading or unloading, as well as the convenience of pouring matte into the converter.
