Description
The inventive induction furnace is intended to heat iron products having the shape of a pipe induced by an electric current. The proposed furnace differs from the known furnaces of this type in that the conductor fed by alternating current, located inside the heated product, thus forming the magnetic conductor for the specified conductor, is made in the form of a carbon rod or the like, reinforced in water-cooled contact shoes, to which an alternating current is supplied, in order to heat the products not only by inductive means, but also due to the radiation of heat by the hot rod.
The furnace is shown in FIG. 1, where FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section of it; FIG. 2-cross section; FIG. 3- diagram of the paths of electric currents and magnetic flux in the furnace.
(452)The furnace consists of one or several successively connected carbon rods Y inserted into the longitudinal opening of the heated product D. The carbon rod is reinforced by both ends in contact shoes M cooled by water, to which alternating current from the transformer T is supplied, forming a coil of a conventional inductive furnace. The upper shoe is connected to the transformer che (452)
Нагреваемое изделие окружено тепловой изол цией И.a cutout disconnector P allowing insertion and removal of the heated article. The heated product is surrounded by thermal insulation I.
До точки Кюри нагрев ведетс как индуктивно, так и за счет сопротивлени стержн .The product is heated by the Foucault currents induced in it, the hysteresis and the radiation of heat by the heating carbon rod having significant ohmic resistance. Up to the Curie point, heating is induced both inductively and due to the resistance of the rod.
If you wish to raise the temperature above the Curie point, heating can be continued, mainly due to the release of heat from the rod, allowing it to reach a high temperature. When switching from one mode to another, it is possible to use a change in the secondary voltage with an adjusting transformer.
