Description
The higher fraction fractions of by-products of rubber synthesis from alcohol are always colored and have an unpleasant odor from a whole range of impurities. To remove these impurities, the authors of the present invention propose to treat the liquid to be purified with zinc chloride when heated.
To do this, a small amount (about P / o) of zinc chloride is introduced into the cold and it is subjected to distillation or distillation into fractions. While the lighter colorless fractions are distilled off, all the colored substances and the main part of BeatecTB, also converting with colored substances over time, are compacted, under the influence of zinc chloride, into higher molecular compounds that are not distilled off during the distillation, especially if it is carried out in the presence of water or with steam.
As a result, the distillate fractions yield completely colorless and, moreover, odorless. There is no need to introduce zinc chloride in large quantities, because the reaction involves mainly the zinc chloride that is in solution.
It has been noted above that under the action of zinc chloride only a part of it is condensed (and maybe polymerized).
With longer treatment and the addition of fresh portions of zinc chloride, these reactions can be completed, but after that unsaturated compounds remain in the products, however, incapable of condensation and polymerization under the action of this catalyst.
In the residue, after stripping off the volatile part, vase-like oils are obtained as compaction products, which, after removing zinc and traces of hydrochloric acid, can be used for various purposes (anti-rust lubricant, skin impregnation, etc.).
п.The method described above for purification of rubber synthesis byproducts by the alcohol method can equally well be applied to a whole range of other organic products, for example, cracking products of gasoline, hexyl alcohol, etc.
If you take for cleaning, if possible, a common solution of synthetic rubber by-products in the form of a so-called upper hydrocarbon layer of condensate, then the resulting product can serve as a solvent for benzyl cellulose.
In this case, the work is best done as follows. By-products of synthetic rubber production are treated with zinc chloride using the method described above. Despite the significant amount of water in the taken products and its passivating effect on zinc chloride as a catalyst, it is not required to be removed from the condensate. Next, the products are distilled, first up to 140-170, by direct heating, and then with steam. The entire distillate is a benzylcellulose solvent, but for technical purposes only the fraction that is most beneficial for benzylcellulose in terms of boiling point and evaporation is collected in one large fraction. Distillation with water is carried out in such conditions that the heat for heating the distillation vessel acts directly on the water layer under the layer of the organic solution, and not on the latter, to avoid overheating, which causes decomposition and tarry of a different nature with the formation of again undesirable impurities, including and painted, carried away by steam. This precaution is necessary, since neglecting it is difficult to get a good product.
Washing the obtained solvent fraction with water in order to launder water-soluble substances is unacceptable, since impurities are extracted with water, which together with the main part of the fraction form the most advantageous solvent of benzyl cellulose.
