The invention relates to the measurement of the velocity of longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic waves in solids and can be used in various fields of ultrasonic technology. Methods are known for measuring the speed of ultrasound in solids from the known speed of ultrasound in an immersion liquid by measuring angles of incidence and reflection. The disadvantage of this method is that it is impossible to measure, for example, when the ultrasound velocity in the sample is greater than the ultrasound velocity in the immersion liquid. To expand the measurement range, a method is proposed whereby a sample made in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped is placed in a measuring chamber, a dihedral reflector is fixed on the lower and rear of the face transducer, turning the transducer around the axis of the protractor, fix the maximum signal on the monitoring device, measure the angle of incidence of the ultrasonic wave on the non-average edge of the sample, move the transducer vertically, rotate it around the axis of the protractor until the maximum with chased for controlling the instrument and angle measurement by reflection from eflektora right angle, the desired speed is determined with the formula of C de C - velocity of ultrasound in the immersion of the liquid; a is the angle of wear on the front face of the sample; f) is the angle of reflection from the right angle of the reflector. On fng. 1 shows a block diagram of a device implementing the described method; in fig. 2 - the same, longitudinal section. The method is implemented in the following manner. The sample /, made in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped, is placed on the holder 2. On its back and bottom walls a two-sided rectangular reflector 3 is fastened. The converter 4 connected to the pulse generator 5 through the second holder 6 and the axis of the goniometer 7 directs to the liquid , located inside the measuring chamber 8, the ultrasonic wave, which, falling on the front face of the sample /, located on the continuation of the axis of the protractor, is transformed into a longitudinal and transverse waves.
